The Rihanna and Diane Sawyer 20/20 Interview Special premiered on Friday night and let’s just say it was very candid. Rihanna spoke in detail about her side of the story and even opened up about her childhood past with domestic violence. View Part 1 above and Part 2 below.
On what she said happened that night:
“I caught him in a lie. And he wouldn’t tell the truth … I was being more annoyed at that point in our relationship he had to lie about something so stupid. I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me. And he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it. And … it was ugly.
“I was bleeding. I was swollen in my face,” she said. “So there was no way of me getting home, except for, my next option was to get out of the car and walk. Start walking in a gown, in a bloody face. So I really don’t know what my plan was. I didn’t have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan.”
On getting back with Chris:
“I don’t have a desire at all to be with him,” she said… I can’t see how we … would get back together, but I’m also not God and I can’t predict the future.”
On whether or not she hates Chris Brown:
“I don’t hate him at all. I actually love and care about him and I’m concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up, and just take this as something that you had to go through to grow up and learn.” [ READ MORE QUOTES ]

Hours before Rihanna’s highly anticipated interview with 20/20, Chris Brown’s MTV interview (which was taped Monday) premiered. The singer spoke with Sway and touched on how he is trying to move on but still struggles with what happened that night. View full interview above.
Chris also released another statement in response to Rihanna getting into detail about the incident on 20/20:
“While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.”

Singer Mariah Carey spotted arriving to shoot her latest music video in Manhattan on Friday night. Word is she is taping the video for “H.A.T.E. U”, which is off of her latest album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z hugged up backstage at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards on Thursday night (November 5) in Berlin, Germany. As we reported to you yesterday, both took home awards and performed at the event.
Bee accepted three awards and used the occasion to thank Jay for “putting a ring on it” (video here). Peep more photos of the happy couple below.

Some of you may remember the Artist Spotlight we did on upcoming singer/songwriter/musician Mateo a couple months ago. Well here is the official video for his song, “Get To Know Me” off of his recently released live EP “Get To Know Me: Live at Swing House.”
His performance was done in one take along with an 8 piece backing band and shot by director Josh Caldwell. The video also gives you a real perspective of life on tour for an artist on the rise. It features documentary style footage of Mateo on the 40-city national college tour that he’s on right now.

Ciara returned home to her Los Angeles house on Thursday night and according to the paps, she was “in no mood to get photographed”. The singer is currently in the studio working on her fourth studio album, to be released sometime in 2010.
